Unlike other brands, our handbags are designed by top fashion designers and then handcrafted by Italy’s family-owned ateliers. Our designers are veterans of Prada and the New York Ballet. Jill Milan’s ateliers also create handbags for the best fashion houses - Bulgari and Donna Karan, to name a couple.

Since Medieval times, Italy has been renowned for its textile production. Italian handbags often survive for generations thanks to the quality of their materials and their exquisite craftsmanship. We select Italian fabrics for each of our bags, using the highest-quality PVC-free and animal-free materials. These superb textiles are typically more expensive than most leathers.

Creating Your Bag

Fabric bags are stitched by hand and many evening bags are entirely handmade. A pattern maker cuts the pattern precisely to ensure that the designer's sketch will be translated perfectly. A cutter then cuts the fabric before the material is transferred to a banconista, or stitcher. The resulting handbag is a piece of art that should last for years.

Cruelty-Free and Sweatshop-Free

Made without using animal fabrics or glues, Jill Milan’s bags are handcrafted by artisans in small, family-owned ateliers. The ateliers offer employees a master craftsman’s wage and health insurance, and they abide by Italy’s strict regulations concerning labor
