On May 21 Jill Milan will join Aston Martin, Champagne Jacquart and other fashion companies for Night Bazaar, a fundraising event at the SLS Beverly Hills hotel to support the Catherine H. Tuck Foundation. Fashion accessories, jewelry and apparel will be available for purchase and 10 percent of the evening’s sales will go to the non-profit which provides financial assistance to women being treated for breast cancer.

In addition to Jill Milan’s handbags and other accessories, the evening will feature apparel by Claire Farwell London; jewelry by Sage & Stone Los Angeles and by Amanda Keidan Jewelry; scarves by Ink & Tailor; activewear by Out Incorporated; and beverages from Luxury Wine & Co.

The mission of The Catherine H. Tuck Foundation is to provide short-term financial support for women in active treatment for breast cancer. Some facts about breast cancer from the foundation’s website:

  • An American Journal of Medicine study concluded that 60 percent of all bankruptcies are medically related.
  • That same study found that 75 percent of the people with a medically related bankruptcy had medical insurance.
  • Breast cancer is the second most common cancer, following skin cancer.
  • 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetimes.

Women who are having trouble making ends meet while in treatment for breast cancer can apply for financial assistance through the Catherine Fund program. The foundation makes payments for non-medical expenses such as rent, utilities, transportation for treatment, childcare during treatment, and food.
